Misinformation, Disinformation and Vercaity
Information accuracy
You may not post content that presents a distorted view of reality, whether it is inaccurate or false (misinformation) or is intentionally deceptive (disinformation), where such content is likely to result in harm to the public or to interfere with fair and equal opportunities for all to take part in a free and open society. This may include:
→
inaccurate or scientifically unsupported medical claims that endanger public health or safety;→
manipulated media, whether audio or visual, likely to mislead or deceive in a way that may harm the public interest;→
false or misleading content likely to interfere with an individual's ability to participate in civic activities;→
unsubstantiated claims that could promote hate or targeted harassment of specific groups of people.
We encourage active participation in the expression of ideas, perspectives, and experiences and may not be in a position to dispute personal accounts or observations. Similarly, we are open to scientific evidence (including heterodox views) being shared in the public interest. Deciding what is and isn't in the public interest may not always be clear, and we appreciate that not all parties may agree with our approach to handling such cases. While we attempt to be consistent in our execution of these policies, and operate according to clear transparent guidelines, as a company we are composed of individual people interpreting and implementing these policies in line with our own world models like anybody else.
We generally allow parody and satire that is in line with our Acceptable Use Polices, and we consider context to be important in how information is received and understood. When reviewing content under this policy, HASH will consider the impact of various factors that may help to orient the viewer, such as whether the content has been provided with clear disclaimers, citations to credible sources, or includes other details that clarify the accuracy of the information being shared.
Dishonest behavior
We value honesty and fairness, so we don't allow the promotion of products or services that are designed to enable dishonest behavior.
Disallowed content
You may not promote the following on HASH:
→
Products or services that help users mislead others: for example, advertising the creation of fake or false documents such as passports or diplomas; selling numbers (e.g. 'credit privacy numbers') that mimic the appearance of national identification numbers; providing services that broker the inclusion of clients as authorized users on credit lines; aids to pass drug tests; paper-writing or exam-taking services; and selling falsified user activity in the form of invalid clicks, reviews or social media endorsements.→
Products or services that enable a user to gain unauthorized access (or make unauthorized changes) to systems, devices or property: for example, hacking services, stealing cable, radar jammers, changing traffic signals, phone or wire-tapping.→
Products or services that enable a user to track or monitor another person or their activities without their authorization: for example, spyware and technology used for intimate partner surveillance including but not limited to spyware/malware that enable a user to monitor texts, phone calls or browsing history; GPS trackers specifically marketed to spy or track someone without their consent; and promotion of surveillance equipment (e.g. cameras, audio recorders, dash cams, nanny cams) marketed with the express purpose of spying. Related services such as those provided by private investigators may be permitted on a case-by-case basis depending on how they are marketed and advertised, and dependent upon the methods they employ. Products or services designed for parents to track or monitor their underage children must operate transparently (with the child's knowledge) and will be disallowed in all other cases.
Disallowed practices
When creating content and advertising on HASH:
→
Don't use imagery that implies your product can be used for dishonest purposes. For example, an image of a student looking over their shoulder during an exam while using your product would not be allowed.→
Don't use language that suggests your product can be used to cheat or deceive. For example, avoid phrases like “fool the system” or “get away with anything”.
