Schelling Model of Segregation with 3 groups

Agents in this model strive to be neighbors with a certain percentage of similar agents.

Those that are unhappy, or are not surrounded by enough similar agents, move to a free grid position.

--Analysis-- Three values are being graphed in the Plots tab. One is the constant value of similar_wanted_percentage. The first variable represesents the proportion of agents who are happy in their current position, and the second represents the proportion of agents who are fully segregated (they have no neighbors of a different type).

Try modifying similar_wanted_percetange, and seeing the effect that this has on the number of segregated agents.

  • Is there a proportional change?
  • How does the discrete nature of the simulation affect the outcome?
