Information Spread

This is a model of how information and misinformation spreads on social media. It represents how informed users convince others of verified facts, and how misinformed users convince others of debunked claims and myths.

Everyone starts out as either informed, misinformed or neutral. The users they follow are randomly assigned according to probabilities related to their distance. with each turn, a user can be convinced of what the users they follow believe with certain probabilities that depend on their current state and the state of the users they follow. The cumulative 'convincement' from all the users they follow will affect their state at the end of a turn. the more a user is convinced in a certain direction, the more it takes to convert them to the other side.
